Air conditioning units for Offshore Mobile Accommodation units

OSV delivered two explosion proof combined air conditioning / pressurizing units for offshore Philippines during January 2009. These units are to be used to air condition and pressurize two mobile accommodation units which include a supply office and sleeper cabin. The air conditioning units are designed as single packages which include a pressurizing system and are designed to be recessed into the sides of the steel building.

 

 

The air conditioning unit specification includes:-

  • External are classified as Zone 2 IIB
  • Suitable for use in Zone 1 IIB during purge mode.
  • Unit frame material of 316L stainless steel.
  • Evaporator and condenser coils with copper fins and copper tubes with coating to inhibit corrosion.
  • Two 100% pressurizing fans designed to operate as duty and standby.
  • Independent PLC’s for control of pressurizing fans and air conditioning systems.
  • Automatic purge mode followed by pressurization on system start

The cooling performance for each air conditioning unit is 14 kW.

OSV also provided the design of the HVAC system and all other HVAC components including HVAC control panels, fire dampers, electric purge/pressurizing dampers, louvres, and an Exd panel for gas and smoke detection and for purging and pressurizing the buildings.
